INSTITUTE FOR DEVELOPMENT POLICY – VIETNAM NATIONAL UNIVERSITY - HO CHI MINH CITY
INTRODUCTION:
The Institute for Development Policy – Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-IDP) was established under Decision No. 1335/QĐ-ĐHQG by the Director of VNU-HCM. The Institute is a public institution with a legal personality under the University of Economics and Law. Its headquarters is at the University of Economics and Law, Quarter 3, Linh Xuan Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City.
The Institute's objective is to promote research and provide scientific arguments, consultancy, criticism, and policy development to meet the demands of a major university center, effectively contributing to the realization of Vietnam's development aspirations.
MISSION, VISION, AND FUNCTION:
Mission: To promote social development and progress through research, providing scientific arguments, consultancy, criticism, policy development, and knowledge transfer at local, regional, national, and international levels.
Vision: The Institute for Development Policy – Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City aims to become one of Vietnam's leading centers in research, consultancy, criticism, knowledge transfer, and policy development.
Function:
● Developing strategically oriented research tasks for national, regional, local, and enterprise development, based on integrating academic research with applied research, transferring research results to meet socio-economic development requirements.
● Gathering and attracting scientists from within and outside VNU-HCM, domestically and internationally, combining training and research, theory and practice, leveraging interdisciplinary approaches and modern research methods to address set tasks effectively.
● Establish robust research groups to carry out research tasks, apply research contracts, and implement commissioned by central and local authorities. Engaging in topical discussions, assuming direct responsibility for academic research implementation, and publishing internationally recognized works.
● Conducting domestic and international workshops and scientific conferences to implement research topics, provide consultancy, and critique socio-economic development policies of localities and regions in response to new contexts.
● Organizing updated courses and knowledge transfer on economics, law, management, business, etc., for interested parties.
